Roofers Raise Thousands for Freddie

July 30, 2015

Eastbourne- based Clarke Roofing held their biannual charity golf day recently and raised over £7,300 for the Freddie Farmer Foundation.

20 teams, representing local businesses, clients and suppliers, took part in the golf day which was held at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club in Paradise Drive. The 18-hole stableford competition was won by local jewellers Brufords.

The Freddie Farmer Foundation is a registered charity, founded in February 2011, to raise the funds needed to set up a specialised physiotherapy centre in the south-east for children and young people with cerebral palsy and serious mobility problems.

Freddie Farmer was born at 28 weeks with cerebral palsy and weighing just 2lb 12oz.
Freddie is now 11 and his zest for life is contagious and his smile can break down any barrier. His family entered a team and his Uncle ran a very successful auction in the evening.

Business Development Manager Lisa Pickard who organised the event with Director David Beer said “We are over the moon with the amount we raised. The weather was very kind to us and the golf club bent over backwards to ensure the day ran smoothly. We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes but there are far too many to mention here!”
Charity officer, Karen Smith, said: “We’re so grateful to Clarke Roofing for choosing to support the Freddie Farmer Foundation.  We’ll use the money to buy adapted equipment for our children.
Thanks to everyone who helped out and took part. You’re amazing!”
