Ian had already set up a close working relationship with Clarke Roofing since 1996 when he was working for a local construction company carrying out training for local sub-contractors.

Clarke Roofing has always had a proactive approach towards health and safety and training, over the years and with the help of I.D.P Safety Services Clarke Roofing have achieved CHAS for six years as a main contractor, Safe Contractor for the last three years and has won the GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE safety awards from the National Federation of Roofing Contractors.

I.D.P Safety Services work with Clarke Roofing on a day by day basis in regards to such things as method statements and risk assessments for the various projects they undertake whilst also ensuring that Construction Phase Plans are all up to the required standards.

Ian has helped to compile a CITB training matrix and is co ordinatoring an NVQ assessor to ensure the operatives are all achieving the highest NVQ levels as possible.

The two companies are in the process of achieving Heritage CSCS cards due to the type of work carried out by Clarke’s on English Heritage sites and National Trust projects.

The culture of health and safety comes from the very top down to the newest employees and no one is allowed to work out on site until they have gone through the company training process and is made aware of the company procedures.
